Darfo Boario Terme, a town for all seasons
Boario Terme's unique position distinguishes it from other Alpine towns. Boario Terme sits just 50 mins from Milan Bergamo airport. The Alps soar up either side of Boario Terme with the Montecampione ski station just 30 mins away. Boario Terme is also just 10 mins from the beautiful great lake Iseo and sitting above Boario Terme is the tiny lake Moro. And at the centre of the village is the Spa Park with 4 distinct and unique fresh water springs. Today the large Spa Park (Parco delle Terme di Boario), is undergoing major change as the Boario Terme spa area is being rennovated and new services added.
Around Boario Terme lie hundreds of cultural, historical, activity and culinerary experiences. Boario Terme's climate is cool in winter and warm in summer with the heavier rains usually only during the months of April and November. 
The famous 19th centuary writer Alessandro Manzoni, visited the small Alpine village of Boario Terme in search for a cure. Boario Terme, already famous for it's pure curative spring water, gained even greater fame. Boario Terme itself is rumoured to be named after the Celtic word oror (bor o bro) meaning “spring water”. Its long association with water also recalls in 1471 the flooding and destruction of the Historic Montecchio bridge along with parts of the town.
Stone age man also roamed the Boario Terme area and the Valley has numerous ancient rock carvings, now part of a UNESCO world heritage park. Some 14,000 years ago Boario Terme was covered by a giant glacier, the remains of which still exist in the high Valley.The Romans have also left their mark having occupied Boario Terme in 16 bc under Proconsul Publius Silius. The remains of an old Roman amphitheatre have been preserved in Cividate and can be visited today. Many local wars were fought here, like the bloody battles between Bergamo and Brescia whose rivalry still exists today especially on the soccer pitch. In the 15 century, Venice ruled over Boario Terme and to pacify the population, destroyed a number of important castles.In 1510 Bishop Paolo Zane came to the valley and was responsible for sending many people to the stake for witch craft. In the end Venice sent two other bishops to investigate, not the “witches” but Bishop Zane himself. Boario Terme escaped occupation during the first world war but the area held important antiaircraft battlements (still visible today) and was an important passing through point to the front line just 60 Km’s away. Water again played a part when in 1923 the enormous Gleno dam collapsed flooding large areas of Boario. A visit from King Vittorio Emanuele 3rd and numerous restoration works eventually breathed new life into the town Redbeard and Napolean also marched on

The famous engravings rocks of Valle Camonica
The stone carvings of Valle Camonica constitute one of the largest collections of prehistoric petroglyphs in the world and were the first World Heritage recognized by the Unesco in Italy (1979). 
Unesco has recognized more than 140.000 figure, but new discoveries have progressively increased the total number of cataloged incisions, up to 200.000 if not 300.000. The petroglyphs are spread on all surface of the valley, but concentrated in the areas of Darfo Boario Terme, Capo di Ponte, Nadro, Cimbergo and Paspardo.The incisions were made over a time period of eight thousand years, until the Iron Age (I millennium BC), while the petroghyphs of the last period are attributed to the people of Camunni mentioned by Latin sources. The petroglyphs tradition does not end abruptly: engravings have been identified - although in very small number, not comparable with the great prehistoric activity - from the Roman period, medieval or even contemporary, until the nineteenth century. Most of the cuts have been made with the technique of "martellina", and lesser numbers obtained through graffiti.

The beautiful Camonica Alpine Valley
Val Camonica is 90km long and contains 41 towns and villages, making it the second longest valley in Italy. The healing powers of the waters of the spa town of Boario Terme, in lower Val Camonica, were written about as early as 1497 by the naturalist Paracelsus. The Italian writer Manzoni was a regular visitor to Val Camonica, living to the age of 88. Nearby at the Capo di Ponte (Mid Val Camonica) is the National Rock Engraving Park, with prehistoric rock carvings, dating from Neolithic times through to the Iron Age. The carvings relate to the history of the Camuni tribe throughout this period. It is an amazing site, containing thousands of figures: an enormous stone history book. One of the most common carvings is that of the Camonic rose, which is now the emblem of the Lombardy region.

Quarto appuntamento stagionale per il Campionato Italiano BikeTrial a Parma il 13 Giugno 2010. La manifestazione sarà organizzata dalla ASD Inzani Isomec.
Come sempre Roberto e l'affiatato gruppo di Parma garantirà a tutti i partecipanti una gara indoor con ostacoli adatti a tutti i livelli. Partecipate!
ATTENZIONE: sono iniziati dei lavori in via Montanara percui la zona gara non è più raggiungibile come negli anni passati direttamente dall'uscita della Tangenziale.
Riepilogando
Uscita A1 Parma (città). Direzione città. Tangenziale per Fidenza - Piacenza (dir ovest). Dopo alcuni km seguire per svincoli 10 - 15 (dir. Langhirano).
Svincolo 15 (Langhirano). Nella grande rotonda prendere uscita 5 dir. città - quartiere Montanara. Entrare in città. Alla seconda rotonda uscita 2 via Montanara.
Seguire via Montanara fino a via Bramante (4 strada a dx). Imboccare e proseguire per 300 m fino al Campo gara.
Per chi ha il navigatore: Via Bramante.

GARA BIKE TRIAL UISP/BIU VALEVOLE COME PRIMA PROVA DEL CAMPIONATO ITALIANO 2010

Condizioni meteo: nuvoloso senza pioggia con temperatura medio bassa.
Siamo ripartiti. Sabato 3 aprile abbiamo inaugurato l’ottavo anno di gestione Uisp/Biu del Bike Trial in Italia.
Dopo l’appuntamento di Parma per formare i presidenti di Giuria ci siamo ritrovati numerosi alla prima prova di Campionato Italiano. La solita Italia burocratica ha negato all’ultimo momento la possibilità di poter effettuare la gara come pensata. Quando tutto sembrava perso, vicini ad un annullamento della prova, il duro lavoro, l’esperienza di Gualeni e la provvidenziale presenza di Fabio Crescenzi hanno fatto si che la gara si potesse effettuare. Proprio per i problemi sopra citati le zone sono risultate poco più corte del dovuto. In ogni caso, cos’ì come dimostrato dalle penalità, i partecipanti non hanno avuto vita facile.
La separazione delle zone bianche, verdi e blu dalle rosse e gialle e la presenza degli otto giudici ha impedito il formarsi di file. Prima dell’inizio della gara sono state riesaminate le varianti citate nel nuovo regolamento che serviranno ad avvicinarsi ancor più al Regolamento Internazionale BIU in funzione delle due prove internazionali che andremo ad organizzare nel 2010 in Italia. Per quanto riguarda la gara possiamo dire che l’assoluta libertà di movimento all’interno delle categorie farà sicuramente bene a coloro che sono un gradino superiori agli altri come Andrea Riva che vince la categoria Junior ( percorso rosso ) e che per età poteva fare la categoria Minime ( percorso blu ) ed un bravissimo Ale Allegretti che da quest’anno gareggia negli Elitè dove coglie un quarto posto ad una sola penalità dal secondo e dal terzo posto. Un bravo anche a tutti gli altri che hanno preferito scegliere la categoria superiore come Marco Selva, Alessio Povolo ed altri ancora.
Per regolamento non affideremo i punteggi della classifica del Campionato Italiano ai tesserati non Uisp.
Prossimi appuntamenti: Domenica 18 Aprile a Piateda (SO) si svolgerà la 2^ prova di Campionato Italiano, Sabato 24 Aprile a Castiglioncello(LI) si effettuerà la 3^ prova di Campionato Italiano nonché la 1^ prova di Coppa Europa.

EBU ha comunicato a tutti i Delegati Nazionali che il Campionato Europeo BikeTrial programmato per i giorni 22 e 23 maggio 2010 ad Andorra presso il parco "Naturlandia" è stato annullato per causa forza maggiore. Il Campionato Europeo 2010 per tale motivo non verrà disputato.

Si specifica che invece la Coppa Europa 2010 non subirà nessuna variazione e si svolgerà come da programma in tre date: Italia, Repubblica Ceca e Germania. La prima gara si svolgerà a Castiglioncello, tutte le informazioni le trovate nell'apposita sezione cliccando sul banner in alto a destra "European Cup"

I numeri non compresi in questo elenco sono comunque disponibili sul campo gara per coloro che non hanno fatto richiesta ma saranno privi del nome. I numeri in elenco possono essere scaricati, stampati e plastificati oppure si potrà ritirare il numero alla partenza al costo di € 5 già stampato, plastificato e forato. Anche i numeri non personalizzati saranno disponibili allo stesso prezzo.
Ricordiamo che il numero deve essere messo sul manubrio con due fascette.

Non possiamo ancora svelarvi nessun particolare ma la foto è abbastanza esplicita. Il Vice Campione Italiano Categoria Elite Dario Iacoponi è stato ospite in una importantissima trasmissione televisiva che andrà in onda a breve da un famoso network italiano. Probabilmente avete già capito tutto ma preferiamo tenervi ... sulle spine. Dario non ha assolutamente sfigurato nel confronto diretto con il più volte Campione Mondiale BIU Benito Ros attualmente in attività nell'UCI. Nei prossimi giorni ulteriori notizie ... complimenti ad entrambi !
